Strategic Solutions Group (SSG), a leader in public health technology solutions, announced today that Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (IHHS) has officially launched the next generation of its disease surveillance platform — Iowa Disease Surveillance System (IDSS) 2.0 — on August 25, 2025. Built on the advanced Casetivity Disease Surveillance Solution (Casetivity-DSS), IDSS 2.0 represents a significant modernization of Iowa’s capabilities for detecting, investigating, and mitigating public health threats.
Replacing the legacy IDSS platform, IDSS 2.0 delivers real-time data integration, automated case reporting, and advanced analytics to empower epidemiologists, disease investigators, and public health partners. These capabilities will enable Iowa to detect outbreaks earlier, reduce time-to-intervention, and coordinate rapid, targeted responses — ultimately saving lives and resources.
